Andy Hamilton

Andy Hamilton is co-founder and Vice-President of WalkSanDiego, a regional pedestrian advocacy organization. He currently serves on the Transportation Research Board’s Committee on Pedestrians. He has worked on transportation, land use, and air quality issues at the San Diego Air Pollution Control District since 1994. His work includes promoting alternatives to motor vehicles, including walking. From 1987-1993, he did similar work at the Conservation Law Foundation in Boston. Andy holds a bachelors degree in Biology from the University of Kansas, a Masters degree in Ecology from the University of California-Davis and a Masters degree in Urban & Environmental Policy from Tufts University in Boston. He is the author of two District publications: Tools for Reducing Vehicle Trips Through Land Use Design and Slow Down! Taming Neighborhood Traffic. Andy serves as Economic Restructuring Chair for his historic neighborhood’s Main Street Program. In his spare time, he writes for children and coaches Little League Baseball.
